Some deployments show a native Samsung screensaver overlapping the OnSign content after the player enters sleep mode. This happens because Samsung Tizen displays include a built in screen protection feature that is independent from the OnSign app and stays active even while a Player is running. This guide shows you how to disable it so it stops covering your content.
How It Works
Samsung Tizen players include, by default, a screen protection feature that combines a screensaver and an image retention (burn-in) protection routine. Both belong to the TV's own operating system, not to the OnSign app, and remain active regardless of what is playing. If left enabled, the system displays the screensaver on top of the OnSign app whenever the device reaches its configured idle time.
Configuration Steps
- Click on HOME > Settings > All Settings

- Go to OnScreen Display > Screen Protection.

- Now unable the Screen Saver option.

Note: The screenshots above were captured on a Tizen 7.0 QBC display. Menu names and navigation may vary from model to model.
Troubleshooting
- The screensaver still appears after turning off both options: the change was not saved, or the player was not restarted afterward. Repeat the steps above, confirm the toggles are off, then restart the player.
- The menu names do not match this guide exactly: different Tizen firmware versions and models reorganize the settings menu. Update the player's firmware to the latest version and look for the equivalent screen protection options inside Settings.
